Discovering Identity, Building Community: Lancaster's Progressive Path to a Brighter Future

Thank you for taking the time to view our school website and learn a little about our school and community. Lancaster was founded in 1979 with the aim of providing a progressive, bilingual and bicultural education for students within an inclusive community where the aim is to support each learner as they discover and develop their own individual identity. We believe that there is much more to education than training students to pass examinations and so we place an emphasis on the importance of the individual. Our classes are small and teachers are encouraged to use innovative and varied teaching methods in order to motivate students.

As you will see from our mission, philosophy and values, at Lancaster we believe the process of education has two complementary goals: supporting each student as they explore and develop their personal abilities, and helping them through the process of socialisation to be responsible, principled young people, caring for others, the environment and who can proactively contribute to making the world a better place.

To achieve this Lancaster has developed a distinctive educational program that combines local Mexican requirements with various international curricula. We are committed to reflecting the diversity of society, including supporting students with intellectual and physical disabilities in our student body. Additionally, Lancaster supports the principles of sustainable development through educational programs directed at environmental awareness and action, while also offering an active social action programme with local and regional communities.

At Lancaster School we believe that what makes you different makes us who we are. At its heart Lancaster has, and always will be, a community dedicated to learning and helping young people discover their identity, ready to make the most of what life has to offer. We live out daily our values: respect, tolerance, honesty, responsibility and cooperation.
