Kinder 3 Yellow Teacher
Jenny
Hello! My name is Jenny and I am teaching in Kinder 3 yellow. I’m from Bristol, in the south west of England, but have been working in London for the past 4 years. I enjoy travelling and have been lucky enough to spend time working in South East Asia and Australia. I’m really looking forward to working at the Lancaster, learning Spanish and finding out about Mexico!

Kinder 3 Blue Teacher
Cristina
I am an alumna of this school and I’ve been working here for 8 years. I really like the school’s philosophy and I enjoy giving classes. Children are fun to be with. I have seen many changes the school has gone through and I can say that it is a wonderful and fun school to be at.

What we have been learning:
PYP. We have finished with the unit of inquiry about ‘Water Water Everywhere’. We looked at the water cycle, different properties of water (liquid, solid and gas), explored the fact that all living things need water to survive, pollution in water and what we can do not to waste water. Children experimented not drinking water and we discussed what they felt.
Language: We have seen all letters in the alphabet and we are on the process of consolidating blending. We have been working with and dictating spelling words every week.
Writing: We are still consolidating writing with the correct letter formation of all letters in the alphabet. We have also been working on copying words off the board. Practice at home would be of great help.
Math: We have been looking at counting in 2’s and 10s and continue with correct number formation and addition of higher numbers. We have introduced subtraction. |

What we are learning:
PYP: We are now looking at units. We are talking of standard and non-standard units of measurement, such as weight, length, temperature, distance. We are using thermometers, scales, compasses, measuring tapes, etc.. to learn how to read and register the results.
Language: We are working on consolidating all the letter names and sounds that we have learnt. And we are on the process of blending properly.
Writing: We are finishing with our own dictionaries and are working on our spelling words. Please help your children learn these at home.
Math: We are working on subtraction and have introduced money and its use. We are also reading time, such as ‘O’clock’ and ‘half-past’ on a digital and an analogue clock.
