Kinder 1 Blue Teacher
Jennifer
I have been teaching at the Lancaster since 2000 and in Preschool since the year 2002. I am actually a Kinder I teacher and the Preschool Coordinator. I am also an ex-student so I have been part of this school for more than twenty years. I love working with younger children because they are full of love, joy and excitement every single day. Together we work, learn and have lots of fun!

Kinder 1 Yellow Teacher
Maricarmen
I have been working as a teacher since 1990. I worked for ten years in the Lennox School District in Los Angeles and then I moved to the United Kingdom where I worked in the British school system for nearly six years. I have taught from pre-school to adults. This is my first year at Lancaster. I am teaching Kinder I. I am very happy that I have joined this community and I am looking forward to being part of it for a long time. I am sure this is going to be a wonderful experience to work with young children and to learn from them.

What we are learning:
We are learning to be responsible by taking care of our baby dolls. We are bathing them, changing their diapers, feeding them and playing with them. By looking at our pictures we are learning how our bodies have changed since we were born. We have observed how our roles have changed as we grow up. Now we are more independent and we also have more responsibilities.
This term we are experiencing many exciting events such as Mother’s and Children’s Days.
Since this is our last term we are looking forward to finishing the year with success and getting ready to move to Kinder II.

What we have been learning:
Third unit of inquiry:
Express Yourself Our Central Idea for this investigation was: “People express what they think and feel through their language, faces and bodies.” During this investigation we: - Focused on understanding our own and other’s feelings - We explored different ways to express how we feel, for example: We painted with our feet, we listened to music while painting, we played roles in different stories, and we sang songs related to feelings.
