Grade 2 English Teacher

Laetitia

Hello! My name is Laëtitia and I am the Grade 2 teacher this year. Before coming to Mexico I lived in Scotland for 7 years completing my studies (a degree in English and a PGCE in Primary Education) and working in schools. I was born and grew up in France so I love my food and a good bottle of red! I also enjoy travelling and have been fortunate enough to spend some time in most of Europe, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Polynesia and North America. I’ve been teaching in Lancaster for a year now and I’m really enjoying it.

What we have been learning:

Ruth

I joined Lancaster School in 2005 and enjoyed a year of teaching Grade 5.  I currently teach ESL in Grades 3 and 4 as well as giving Maths support in Grade 3 to 5.  During my ESL time, the children consolidate their grammatical, spelling and comprehension skills.  We use a range of material including the Selections programme.  I also teach Art to all Primary Grades.

What we are learning:

U.ofI. (Unit of Inquiry):

              CONSTITUTIONS

Children are going to investigate this central idea:

Countries have written documents that explain the laws, rights and obligations of the people that live there.

They will try to answer the following questions:

Why did men need to create constitutions?

What’s inside a constitution?

What’s the point of having laws, rights and obligations?
