 Pupils to begin to

Computers effect on society.

 realize the

magnitude of ways

that they can use

Once they

understand the

skills, they can use

them throughout

q       Simple Calculations

q       Formulaes: Max, Min, Average, Autosum, Count, Countif, etc.

their school life

CONTROL UNIT

and beyond.

From doing mostly

presentation work in Form 1, pupils

will begin to look at a variety of other

packages and

q       Write a sequence of instructions

q       Input/Output

q       How to control work in real world

q       Traffic light sequence

q       (NOTE we are severely restricted this year in equipment to teach

control and this is something that will have to figure in our

                         development plan for year 2003 – 2004)

INTRODUCTION TO MODELLING

Knowledge

q       Using a variety of spreadsheet worksheet examples developing skills throughout the year. The examples will try to focus on a wide variety of uses both on a real and imaginary data.

CONTROL UNIT

q       Use of Logo software to produce simple patterns and shapes by controlling and imaginary turtle

FINAL PROJECT

q       Integrated Survey Project

Important to note that this will differ from F1 project, as it will be a lot more open and available for extension, as pupils begin to realize the breadth of problems a computer can solve.
