
1. Counting and recognising numbers
- Recognise odd and even numbers.
- Count on/ back in tens and hundreds from any two or three digit number.
- Order a set of whole numbers to 1000; position them on a number line.
- Round any three digit number to the nearest 100.
- Know that ½ lies between ¼ and ¾.
2. Calculations
- Mental calculation strategies.
- Understand multiplication and division.
- Pencil and paper procedures (+ and -)
- Recall multiplication facts in x2, x5 and x10 tables, and derive division facts.
3. Solving problems
- Make decisions to solve real life problems.
- Investigate general statements about shapes, and suggest examples to match them. Explain reasoning.
- Solve number puzzles. Explain methods and reasoning.
4. Shape, Space, Measures and Data handling
- Record measurements using mixed units or the nearest whole/half unit.
- Identify and sketch lines of symmetry, recognise shapes with no lines of symmetry.
- Compare angles.
- Solve a given problem by organising and interpreting data in Venn and Carroll diagrams.
