
1. Counting and recognising numbers
- Count on in 3’s or 4’s to at least 30, from and back.
- Order whole numbers to at least 100.
- Round numbers less than 100 to the nearest 10.
- Begin to recognise that two quarters and one half are equivalent.
2. Calculations
- Understand subtraction as inverse of addition.
- Recall all pairs that make 20.
- Bridge through a multiple of 10 when adding a single-digit number.
- Use known number facts and place value to carry out multiplication and division mentally.
3. Solving problems
- Solve problems, recognise patterns and relationships, generalise.
- Problems involving real life, money or measures.
- Explain how a problem was solved.
4. Shape, Space, Measures and Data handling
- Read and write the time to the hour, half hour and quarter hour.
- Discuss, identify, predict and place outcomes in order of likelihood.
- Create and explain simple symmetrical designs.
- Discuss and compare data represented in teacher generated diagrams.
- Understand the purpose of graphing data.
