Grade Five
Overall Expectations
Students will explore ideas and assess visual and other information, including images and aretfacts from different historical, social and cultural context.
They will be expected to collate information from various sources and use gathered research to develop their own ideas, taking into account purpose and audience.
Students will continue to increase their levels of technical ability with a range of different media and methods both in 2-D images and 3-D artefacts.
They will be expected to choose appropriate materials for a task, building on skills previously learnt, and care for them accordingly.
Students will continue to be exposed to a variety of different art styles and discuss their responses showing considered reasoning.
They will show increased independence in the way they develop ideas and use their sketchbooks to record their design process.
Students will be encouraged to adapt and refine their work to realise their own intentions.
Finally, they will work on individual and group projects being able to comment constructively on aspects of their own work and that of others, giving ideas on how work can be improved.
