Grade Two

Overall Expectations

Students will continue to develop an understanding and the ability to use a wide range of media, materials and tools with appropriate care.

They will work on pieces both individually and in small groups showing an increased ability to concentrate on and complete a piece of artwork.

They will continue to be encouraged to express their ideas, feelings and observations in relation to their own work and the work of other student.

They will design and make both 2-D images and 3-D artefacts.

They will continue to demonstrate their ability to chose suitable materials for a specific given task.

They will be exposed to various artists work as a source of inspiration and will be encouraged to reflect and discuss their preferences.

Areas of Study

-         Exploring different uses of colour

-         Still Life

-         Making basic moving toys

-         Observational drawing

-         Andy Goldsworthy Artists Study
